If you love clicking pictures and posting them online, Instagram is perhaps your go-to social media platform. And if you’re running a business page or are an influencer/celebrity, you’ve probably wondered if there was a way to analyze user-engagement on your profile and improve your content accordingly. One of the easiest ways to measure that is by taking a look at the number of followers, likes on posts, and comments.
But, another thing that several people keep asking online, is a way find out which of the followers are your biggest fans. Or, who views your Instagram profile the most. Well, I wish there was a way to do this even though I’m no public figure. Moreover, aren’t we all a little curious to know where we stand on the popularity scale? While you can check who has liked your posts or seen your stories, there’s really no official way to see who has viewed your profile. Also, Instagram only shows you the number of views on a video but not who viewed it. However, there are a few apps which do let you see who views your Instagram profile. Take a look:
1. Who Viewed My Instagram – Profile Tracker:
One if the most well-rated apps in its league, “Who Viewed My Instagram” comes with a ton of features, mainly enabling users to check who’s stalking them on Instagram. The app aids in keeping a track of not only your secret admirers but also those who block you or unfollow you. What I like about this app is that when any of the aforementioned happens, you will be notified on your phone immediately. You’ll also be shown a list of the people who most frequently visit your profile. The best part? You can get this app for free; and there are no hidden charges masked under “in-app purchases”, unlike most other apps.
Although I personally think that this app is by far the most accurate one, it may fail to be accurate on some occasions. That said, the UI is pretty amazing and simple to use, for a free service. The only downside is that it isn’t available on the App Store (iOS); but you can get the APK file from a 3rd party website if you really want to use it.
To get started, all you have to do is –
- Download and install the app on your device from the Play Store.
- Then, the app prompts you to log in via Facebook or by manually entering your Instagram credentials; and links the app to your IG account.
- It then collects all the data automatically and calculates all those who’ve viewed your profile recently.
- The app also gives you an insight into those users who engage with your posts and stories the most.
All the good points aside, a few users have reported issues while trying to log-in and have said that the app often displays names of the recent followers as stalkers.

2. Who Viewed my Instagram:
Another similar app with a similar name, Who Viewed my Instagram is a product of EdisonStudios; except, it does offer in-app purchases for advanced features. The app boasts of a pretty decent algorithm that gives you a precise account of the followers who view your profile most often (it shows you a list of up to 20 people). Similar to the app mentioned above, this app also requires you to log-in so that it can sync your IG account with the app.

Note that this app does not really give any extra information about people who have blocked you or unfollowed you recently. Also, you’ll be charged for pretty much everything you wish to do. People have also complained of the app showing fetching extremely inaccurate results. Also, this app is only available on the Play Store.
3. Instaview for Instafollow:
Instaview is an app that is supported on iOS devices and allows users to see their admirers, likers, and frequent commenters. It is basically an Instagram analytics tool that helps you to understand who actually cares about your posts. The app extracts this data based on the interactions your followers have had with your account, including activities like photo tagging and direct messaging. The only disadvantage of this app is that it doesn’t come for free. Although you can download and install it for free, you’ll need to subscribe if you want to get your hands on a premium report. Currently, the premium subscription is priced at $2.99/week. You may also opt for a monthly, half-yearly, or yearly payment scheme; the price would vary accordingly.

4. Follower Insight:
Developed by MonoMosaic, Follower Insight enables you to track multiple Instagram accounts and get an insight on things like – when is a good time to put up a post on basis of analysis of how many likes or comments you get and whether you are growing on the popularity front or not. To be more specific, it allows you to check the number of followers, likes, comments, get effective timings for publishing, get an idea about the user engagement patterns, and more. A Word of Caution:
While the above mentioned apps do let you in on your admirers, along with other Instagram account insights, you must use them cautiously. Here are a few things that you should bear in mind –
- They’re not certified by Instagram.
- The reports may be inaccurate and may differ from one app to another.
- Many of them will charge extra for their premium features.
- Many of them also contain ads.
- A few of these apps which claim to let you find out who has visited your profile, could be fake and/or ask you to enter your password manually instead of linking accounts.
- Some may even contain malware and pose a threat to your device.
Other Instagram Analytics Tools:
Though you may have landed on this page just to find out how to check who viewed your profile, other Instagram analytics apps may be able to give more insight on your reach, effectiveness of your posts, and user engagement. These apps tell you the total number of likes you have received, the best time to post, an account of the posts which have got maximum likes, comments per post, and follower growth charts, and work best for business purposes.

You may check out all the 4 apps we’ve mentioned in our list depending upon what device you’re using. However, our best advice would be to stick to the Instagram official app, despite its limitations as far as features are concerned. If you really want to measure your growth, then the other Instagram Analytics Tools are a must-try. They may not all come for free, but they’re worth exploring.
