If you know 9 out of every 10 bloggers fail. Most of the people who want to blog fail to earn any money online.

There could be many reasons like they are not serious or they felt blogging is a cake walk etc. But I have jot down a list of 6 prime reasons why a new blogger fails most of the time.

Although I don’t consider myself a successful blogger but I am making decent money through blogging and you can even read this post to know how I earned Rs. 20 lacs in 2013 from Google AdSense.

blogger failure

As per my more than 3 years of experience in blogging, following are the six reasons why 9 out of every 10 bloggers fail.

Choosing a Wrong Niche

The first reason is they are unable to decide on a niche. Niche of your blog is very important.

If your hobby is painting then you its difficult to create a blog on sex tips and make your blog successful. You have to choose your niche that is close to your hobby or area of interest.

When I started blogging, I started following successful bloggers. Most of these bloggers were writing either about latest technology or blogging so I started my first blog Technocian on technology tips.

First problem was the high competition and the second problem was no interest about writing on this topic. So even after 6-8 months of working on this blog, there was no income.

After one year, I realized that I am going in the wrong direction. There is no scope for me on this topic.

As I was involved in affiliate marketing from 2005, I had some good experience and even interest in make money topics. I thought of creating a blog around that topic and then I started blogging on one of my old domain Jobs8Home.

Within 1 year, I was making sufficient money from this blog. Then I moved on to create other blogs and many of these are successful.

So in simple words, you cannot start blogging about random things and succeed. Most of the bloggers fail because their niche is not so precise.

Hence, choose a topic that you know best and write about it without any problem.

Failing to Create a Narrative

Creating your narrative is very important. People must be able to relate to your story as soon as they read your blog.

It means people could understand what you are trying to tell them. If readers get to know the message you are trying to convey then your blog is successful.

However, most the bloggers fail to do so. It is because they are blogging in all the directions.

In other words, their blogging is not at all objective. Reader online looks only for objectivity.

Creating Content

Next is creating content. You got to create content on regular basis. Your content must be original and good to read.

If you write something without any experience or research then it won’t be useful for the readers and you will fail to create a good readership for your blog.

Most of the new blogger fail to create the content that is unique. They try to plagiarize or rewrite the content of other bloggers.

Moreover, a blogger has to create content on regular basis. You need to update your blog at least twice in a week.

So from creating a good title to writing full content you need hard work. Most bloggers fail in that department.

Ignoring SEO

Another reason why most of the bloggers fail is SEO. I am not suggesting that you have to be an expert in SEO.

However, you must know how to do basic keyword research. You have to create keyword list and incorporate those keywords into your content.

If you want to rank high then keyword research is must. Similarly you have to create quality backlinks for your site.

Gone are the days when you can create thousands of backlinks for your site and rank any of your site for any of your keyword.

Today quality is most important and less is good.

So if you are not doing SEO or promoting your content, then you are not going to become a successful blogger.

Just for Money

If you are blogging just for quick money then you are doomed to fail. In fact, most bloggers fail because they think blogging is a quick way to make money.

Blogging is all about hobby for a thing. If you have a hobby then you could write it down. But most blogger fail to realize it and they fail.

Never enter into blogging because you wanted to make money overnight. Blogging is long process and it takes time before you earn any money.

Impatient and Restless

Finally I would say most bloggers are young and they are very impatient. It took me 2 years before I earn my living from blogging.

So be ready to spend at least 1 year before you start some earning from your blog. Its like you are going to get a bachelor degree in blogging and once you get the degree, you can think of making money.

In blogging, you got to learn every single day. You only could blog if you are willing to learn something new.

If you cannot learn new things then how could you blog. This is the problem that takes you down.

Most bloggers quit blogging because they failed to make money in their first month.

So these were 6 reasons why 9 out of every 10 bloggers fail. I hope if you want to be a successful blogger then you might not make these same mistakes.
